Republicans get an F from families

The Republican majorities in power have worsened our country’s child care crisis—leaving more and more families across the country struggling to make ends meet.

Congressional Republicans claim they are “pro-family,” but their actions tell a different story: they’ve voted to give nearly a TRILLION dollars in tax breaks to billionaires, and they’ve backed Trump’s spending billions more on a war in Iran that Americans don’t support. There is more than enough money for Congress to fund free, quality child care for every family: Republican leaders in Congress simply don’t want to.

The congressional Republican majority:

We need all members of Congress to work harder to make universal child care a reality. But during the last two years in power, Republican leadership has made things worse for American families.

Voted to support tax breaks for billionaires—while cutting the services families rely on.

Continue to support Trump’s attacks on Head Start and other child care programs.

Support bills that will make it harder for child care providers to keep their doors open: meaning even fewer child care options for families struggling to find or afford care.

Claim to be “pro-family” but none of their bills would increase access to child care for more families. If they were serious about child care, they would FUND IT.
